WEATHER & ENVIRONMENT:
The climat is influcnced by two monsoons. The North-East Monsoon
blows from approximately November till March. Rainless conditions
may persist for more then an month but in the early months of the
period produce heavy monsoon rans over the coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The South-West Monsoon lasts from May to September. It is a drier
period for the whole country. The period of change between the two
monsoons being marked by heavy rainfall, which may last more than
a week. This inter-monsoon transition period occurs duration the
period April-May and October-November.
The
average temperature throughout the year is constantly ranging from
31-32 degree Celsius. Cameron Highlands has mean temperature of
18 degree Celsius and an annual rainfall of over 2500 mm compare
to Kuala Lumpur 27 degree Celsius and 240 mm. The humidity is high
(between 85 per cent and 95 per cent) due to the high temperature
and high rate of evaporation, and the rainfall is heavy (more then
2500 mm). |
